ABOUT JAYME
Jayme Kaye Gershen is a filmmaker and artist based in Miami, FL. Through creative nonfiction storytelling and emotional experiences, her work explores surprising and relatable connections within a world of divisiveness.

She is best known for her Emmy award-winning documentaries, SIX DEGREES OF IMMIGRATION (Short. NYT OPDocs. 2019), and BIRTHRIGHT (Feature. PBS. 2023).
​
Gershen’s latest short, MANGO MOVIE, will premiere at the 2024 New Orleans Film Festival. An immersive exhibit that expands on this film, WHEN MANGOS LAST IN MY BACKYARD BLOOM’D, will premiere in June 2025 in Miami (during mango season).

Gershen is in development for her next project,
SIX DEGREES, a feature documentary and choose-your-own-adventure immersive exhibit that has received support from the NEH, ITVS, Oolite Arts, and Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs.
